About the Investment Promotion and Business Linkages Project

The Investment Promotion and Business Linkages Project is funded by the European Union. It is a component of the five-year Ghana Employment and Social Protection (GESP) Programme.

The GESP Programme is an economic enhancement programme and partnership initiative between the European Union and the Government of Ghana. It will contribute to inclusive growth in Ghana by strengthening social protection and employment systems in the country.

The Project is based in Accra and has national coverage. The Project is being implemented in partnership with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI).

The Project has three components with associated result areas:

Investment Promotion: Investment in Ghanaian agri-businesses value chains is promoted.

Business Linkages: Collaboration between large agri-processing businesses and current or new suppliers is improved.

Exports to ECOWAS: Exports to Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) markets are developed.

The agri-business value chain is the focus of the Project

The Project will contribute to inclusive growth in Ghana and by helping to create formal jobs in across the agri-business value-chain. The focus on the agri-business value chain reflects the importance of the agriculture to Ghana in terms of output and employment and to reducing poverty and increasing living standards.
