The Project privacy policy

We are delighted that you are interested in the Investment Promotion and Business Linkages Project. We want to make sure that you feel you have come to the right place – including when it comes to how we handle your personal data.

The Project is committed to user privacy and data protection. We take protecting your personal data very seriously. We want you to know when we collect data, what data we collect and how we use it.

Our privacy policy on protection of individuals and the processing of personal data is based on the Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 on the protection of personal data by the EU institutions, bodies, offices and agencies.

To take care that your personal data remains safe, we ensure that your data is protected from access by unauthorised parties and from unauthorised disclosure. Your data will not be supplied to third parties without your authorisation.

This privacy policy was last modified on the 18th of June 2020 and is effective immediately. If this policy is amended, notifications of any modification will be posted on the Project website home page.

Use and processing of personal data

For the sole purpose of its activities Investment Promotion and Business Linkages Project uses your information to:

  • Provide access to the Project.

  • Provide marketing and events communications.

  • Undertake internal research and development.

    • Carry out surveys.

    • Meeting internal audit and reporting requirements as part of contract obligations.

      The information you provide will not be transmitted to third parties unless you previously authorise us to do so and for the purpose of promotion. Third parties in this context might include one of our partners, private equity providers, business investors, and business importers.

      Data retention

      The Project does not keep personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and processed.

      Data will also be deleted following completion of the Project unless conclusion or fulfilment of a contract requires the data to remain on record further.

      Your data will be kept in our records unless you explicitly request the removal of your registration from our database by sending an email to info_euproject@agighana.org. Deletion requests of all personal information will be processed within 30 days from the initial request.

      Security

      The Projects handles all personal data in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy and the legal obligations applicable to the processing of personal data.

      The information you provide is saved internally on Project servers. It is protected by the same security parameters as AESA’ s information system

      The Project optimizes the security of the personal data by using encryption, firewalls, password protections and limiting the access to the personal data.

      The Project has adopted adequate measures to protect all the personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorized disclosure of, or access to, personal data transmitted, stored or otherwise processed.

      The transmission of information via the internet can never be completely secure and the provision of personal data always remains at one’s own risk.

      Provision of website, log files and web analysis

      Any time the Project website is accessed, our system automatically records data and information concerning the accessing computer.

      We aggregate information from our system’s log files to analyse our users’ browsing behaviour. This data is not stored together with any of the user’s other personal data. The data is not made accessible to third parties.

      Processing the users’ personal data allows us to analyse their browsing behaviour. By analysing the obtained data, we can compile information on how the various components of our website are used. This helps us keep on improving our website and its user experience as well as reporting..

      Social media

      We maintain an online presence in social media and platforms to communicate with the prospects and users active there and to keep them up to date on our services. When accessing social media networks and platforms, the respective operators’ terms and conditions and data policies will apply.

      Unless noted otherwise in our data policy, we process the data of users who communicate with us through social media networks or platforms (e.g. by leaving comments on our websites or sending us messages).

      Third-party websites

      The Project website provides links to third-party sites. To use third-party content on our websites, you may need to accept their specific terms and conditions, including their cookie policies over which we have no control.

      User rights

      If you provide information to the Project, you have the right to:

      • Access the data

      • Rectify the data

      • Have the data erased

      • Restrict the processing of the data

      • Transmit the data to another party (portability)

        Changes to our data policy

        The Project reserves the right to amend this data policy to keep it in line with the latest legal requirements or to adjust it to reflect changes to our services (e.g. if we introduce new services). The latest version of our data policy will apply to any further visits.
