Caltech Ventures Limited (CVL) is an Agro-processing company, located at Hodzo, near Ho in the Volta region and established in 2006 producing Ethanol and Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from cassava, other high starch, and sugar-based feedstock to supply the Beverage, Pharmaceutical, fuel-ethanol, industrial ethanol, and fire safety sectors.
The vertically integrated project started operations in mid-2017, with an installed capacity of 10m³pd ethanol and 3tpd carbon dioxide.
Three suppliers of Caltech Ventures have been taken through a supplier development programme involving shortlisting, due diligence and a generalist and specialist training and on the job technical assistance to equip them with the information and knowledge needed to enable them to procure and supply fresh cassava roots and dry cassava chips to meet the requirements of Caltech.
The three suppliers are:
- FARIAD Out growers Network located at Kpassa in the Oti Region.
- CED Farms located at Vakpo Konda in the Volta Region
- Bankyekrom in Ho also in the Volta Region.
Praise |Export Services Ltd (PESL) is one of the largest food exporting compamies.in Ghana. PESL was established in 2006 and currently processes and packages annually 1,400 metric tons of tropical foods for exports namely: Plantain Fufu, Cocoyam Fufu, Yam Fufu, Banku Mix, Hausa Koko, Kokonte, Ceremix and Gari, Palm Cream Concentrate, Palm Cream with Herbs, Onion & Ginger flavored Palm Cream, Egg Plant in Brine and Pea Aubergine in Brine and Palm Oil.
The GBLP is working with four suppliers of fresh palm fruit, the main raw material for the pam cream and two suppliers of palm oil.
The suppliers of PESL who are, currently going through the first level supplier upgrading are:
Augustine Asenso Ventures, Recbeng Ventures, Joyce Anokyewaa Ventures, Gladys Ayeh Enterprise all producers of fresh palm fruit and located at Asuom in the Eastern Region and Isaac Kabutey Ventures and Volpalm Ltd located in Asuom in the Eastern Region and Kpando in the Volta Region respectively.
